Born in Austin and raised in Dallas, Texas, KAT's artistic talent was influenced early on by music. Having a family of talented musicians, she was exposed to many forms of music. Folk and bluegrass was the style her parents embraced, and KAT was drawn naturally towards Rock N Roll. When KAT started school she would sing Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin songs, instead of the nursery rhymes sang by her classmates.

Wanting to express herself, but initially having difficulty in learning to play an instrument, KAT focused on other forms of art: drawing and painting. Seeing her desire to express herself, KAT’s parents were quick to recognize the natural talent and encouraged her by providing the tools that would help her convey the idea of what art and music meant to her.

Throughout her Elementary and High School years, KAT excelled at her craft and started receiving critical acclaim at the age of eight and was selling her works by the age of fourteen. Acknowledged for her unique talent, KAT received a Scholarship to The School of The Art Institute of Chicago where she was classically trained in the Fine Arts.

After KAT received her Bachelors Degree, she pursued a career in art. She worked as an art director, a muralist and in film to find the route she wanted to follow as an artist. After learning the various forms of art, KAT felt that she would best convey her message through her appreciation and love of music... the journey had begun.

Today KAT’s works can be seen in galleries throughout the USA, her art is also on display in both public and private collections around the world. Valued for her talent and the messages she expresses, KAT is admired and supported by musicians like Eric Clapton, Vince Gill, Gene Simmons, and Mark Tremonti. She has been distinguished as the rising star of the Pop Art scene and is being heralded as an artist who will influence the direction of the Art World this coming century.
